The Story

It began with a ski trip and has developed into a locally made Harlem, NY business.

I am garment industry trained! I used to sell schiffli embroidery, laces and trims to just about every manufacturer for many years. Travelled a lot to Paris, Japan and HK for fashion ideas. Often attending the Premiere Visionne in Paris, which was a playground for my soul. So, I know and love quality fashion and trims,  I firmly believe everything is better with a trim.

I went on to open my own wholesale trim business, A&E Trimming, supplying to manufacturers from Marc Jacobs, Betsy Johnson, Nanette Lepore, Maggie London, Anna Sui,  and Tahari, to Costco, to name a few.

After closing my 10-year business, life happened and I found the need to reinvent myself or recalculating as the GPS says.

So... Let’s see I am still a ski instructor, I still mountain bike, I have been piddling around with these bandanas I’ve been wearing and selling at ski events for years , then one day I saw my sister/friend Moultry sitting on the beach wearing the next evolution of the Hannahbandanah, my good friend and Angel inverstor Ayanna Bullock came on board with her sweet sweat & tears. I was able to get some bulk product made, and we hit the pop up and festival circuit. My 88 year old mom, my daughter, my sister and even grandsons were out in blazing heat or freezing cold doing shows whenever and where ever we could, I am ever so grateful for them, the response was amazing! I knew through who I was and everyone involved, these bandanas would be a positive mood changing world-changing vessel. It was and is important to be able to support NYC manufacturing and keeping it local.  We are able to help the "save the garment industry" initiative by using garment industry contractors that are struggling. Getting fabric from my Harlem venders allows support for small businesses in Harlem. We try not to throw any fabric away so we used scraps for our masks. With Hannahbandanah Cooperative, we hope to be able to help other companies as a resource and support system. I think the positive energy; love and quality that is put into our items can be felt and seen. I hope to accomplish that with Hannahbandanah

So much more to come!
